How can I report damage caused by a guest of an Airbnb reservation?
If damage occurs during an Airbnb stay, Airbnb’s Aircover provides protection for your property. Since security deposits are not allowed, we kindly ask that you report any issues to Holidu immediately once you become aware of them. Airbnb has a strict guideline of 14 days after the guest’s check-out, and they will not accept any claims made past this deadline. We’ll contact Airbnb to open an Aircover case and take care of the rest!
To get started, we’ll need the following details:
- The age of the damaged item(s)
- Cost or estimate (e.g., link to a similar item on Amazon, or an invoice)
- Proof of the damage (photos, videos, WhatsApp messages, or any supporting evidence)
- Invoices for repairs, replacement items, or additional cleaning fees
While invoices aren’t required to open the case, they’ll be needed to claim reimbursement from Airbnb. Please, be sure to send us the required info within 10 days so we can meet Airbnb's 14-day deadline. After 14 days, Airbnb will automatically close the case and decline your claim.
